Michael Rawlinson
Director General, ELSPA
Appointed as Director General in March 2009, Michael joined ELSPA back in 1999, first as General Manager and later promoted through the ranks to Managing Director. Today he oversees all aspects of the UK’s leading videogames trade body, the Entertainment and Leisure Software Publishers Association. The country’s games industry is now one of our most innovative, dynamic and successful creative industries in the UK and ELSPA is involved in everything from sales charts and reports and IP developments to dealings with Government and its many departments. Michael was instrumental in helping to set up the ‘gold standard’ pan-European PEGI rating system for games in 2003 and, more recently, he has been appointed as the games industry’s representative on the executive board of the UK Council for Child Internet Safety.
